The dating of the otherwise unknown Aulus Pupius Rufus’ provincial administration remains uncertain; some evidence suggests that he administered Cyrene when Cyrenaica was nominally under the rule of Marc Antony's daughter Cleopatra Selene; cf. Jaworski, P.: An Unknown Coin of Pupius Rufus, Struck in Cyrenaica, Wiadomosci Numizmatyczne 53, 2009, 183-191.
